Steve joined the firm in 2005 and became a Director in 2008.
Steve holds the Certificate in Business Valuations, issued by the ACCA and the Ordre Des Experts-Comptables. Business Valuations are carried out in a variety of contexts and for different reasons. As every valuation and every business is unique, Steve and his team approach each project by working closely with the client and gaining a deep understanding of the business as part of this process.
Commercial audit is an area Steve excels in, drawing upon his experience in a wide range of sectors and industries to ensure that the audit process is carried out in a constructive, practical and valuable way. Steve directs and tailors the audit process specifically for each client, making sure that the value and focus of audit are amplified.
This approach is rather different than many have experienced, the seemingly endless form-filling and questionnaires are disposed of and replaced by a sincere interest in the business, which places him in the best position to be a 'real asset' to his clients.
Steve has a strong specialism in Solicitor services and has an extensive knowledge of the legal profession and the requirements of the Solicitors Accounts Rules. Steve acts for several professional firms and has advised them on a wide variety of matters ranging from compliance issues to detailed tax planning.
Steve works with travel clients. This sector is highly regulated and Steve assists many clients in dealing with their obligations under the ATOL regulations. Since the introduction of the ATOL Reporting Accountants Scheme, Steve and his team have become a valuable part of these clients businesses, not only for C.A.A compliance, but also for their understanding of this exciting industry.
Steve is a member of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is a member of the ICAEW Audit faculty and the ICAEW Solicitors' Interest Group.In November 2017 Steve celebrated being Chartered for a full 10 years.
